With our 2025 calendar, we’re supporting Gaza’s children and families. We'll do this through Hope and Play, who are currently reaching about 10,000 people a month in Gaza.
We know that all of Gaza’s population is under genocide. But the ones suffering most cruelly are her children and babies. Over 16,000 killed. The survivors permanently scarred physically, emotionally or both. Thousands without limbs, amputated without anaesthetic. They’ve lost their parents, family and friends. Most have lost the homes they grew up in. It’s a sad reality that many children wish they weren’t still alive.
Hope and Play is working directly through heroic grassroots organisations to support in two ways. First, to keep families alive by getting them food, medicine, essential supplies and fixing sanitation to limit the spread of disease. Second, event under the hellish circumstances, delivering play, art, sport and therapeutic activities to children, to remind them that there is something to live for beyond the death and destruction that surrounds them daily.
The art and stories in this calendar were all created in those activities. Art by Gaza’s children to support Gaza’s children. And through their art, they’re sending us the clearest message of all. That while the bombs, the starvation, the destruction and dehumanisation may continue, they cannot take away the resilience and endurance of the human spirit.
The calendar is A4 size, with an image and small story on one page, and the days of the month on the following one. We’ve also added 30 miniature images on the last 2 pages, as we’re going to email the calendar to Gaza so as many children as possible can see their work in print, which we know they’re excited about.
